Under the Sea of SandSun rising from behind the dusty eternal dunes of this vast ocean of sand, the kingdom slowly awakens. The shadows retreat back into the darkness, letting the enduring beings of the desert see the light of day. Lost between two mountains of sand rested a lost oasis. The water sparkled under the warming rays of this newborn day. A single palm tree was growing on the shore, firmly planted in the sandy grown, its broad leaves casting a shadow on this hidden paradise lost in hell. Hell for those strangers of this place, of course. The desert is a marvel, just waiting to be found. Underneath its hot surface thrives unsuspecting life, some of which only shows its presence in the darkness where the sea of sand lives anew. At first glance, one wouldn’t see those things, at first glance, one would only see the unending beach where there is no water to be found, but if one dares take a second look at, he might just get amazed by this lost empire of thriving and survival.
Relic of OurselvesHidden deep in a forgotten meadow of the forest lays a city. Once important for mankind, it is now abandoned and fell to ruins. The light of the sun pierces through the thick leaves, revealing this lost empire. Mossy green vines took control of the walls crumbling down by the winds of Time, slowly taking this world apart, unforgiving. Relics of a past unknown to us, the buildings can only tell so much. Pieces from the roof torn apart from their rightful places, windows shattered and walls torn apart, showing the foundations they were so carefully hiding. At the core of the city rested a mystic shrine, yet untouched by this return to nature: a fountain, clear blue waters running in streams from the head and into the pool laying at its feet. Flowing at the same calm it almost seemed that it was the only thing defying the rule of Time in this wreckage of debris. The water was so clear and pure that the few sunrays get reflected by the drops of water coming down from this waterfall of hope
Land of myths and legendsLand of myths and legends, « if you can imagine it, it can exist somewhere » once said a wise old man.Through these radiant green plains overlooked by a gentle giant, a mountain whose top is hidden behind a cloak of clouds, one would certainly think so. At the foot of this mountain, a small village took roots around a calm stream of water as pure as if it had just came down from the rain. Houses surrounded the blue artery, letting the friendly creatures of town roam around freely. One of those animals is a fox; her coat was as white as the snowy top of the mountain. Roaming around town, like a daytime ghost, she made her way to the river where a woman in red was meditating. She caressed her head as she came by and sat next to her. The lady started humming an old anthem of the village as the fox laid down, her coal black hair was tied up in a bun and her face as pale as a spirit. She looked up into the heavens where the clouds made their way across the sky, carefree of the limitations
Colorful DisasterImposing over nature, red of blood and war, the lushful greens of the plain burned to yellow as the grey smoke harasses the clear blue sky. Long streams of blue turned to green as the red beings walk by, unaware of the havoc they leave behind. Destruction over destruction, they fight amongst themselves, ruining the pallet that mother nature had so carefully chosen for this masterpiece. Red over green, grey over blue, the colors disappear and the invaders cannot be stopped. Eons later, the lushful green walls disappeared from the surface, only leaving behind a maroon color, created from smoke and waste, who imposed it's presence and changed the earth's permanent color. The crystal blues of the river turned to green as life starts leaving these bodies of water. The sky now permanently grey, making the air unbreathable. The red beings were almost all dead, only a single one was now standing. His stature was weak and it's color was faded. He looked left and right at what the world as come
DisneyBlack sky watching over this bright white tower that would be recognized by millions around the globe. A legend amongst young minds and a nostalgic guidance amongst older ones. No one could describe the feeling that I have here, surrounded by all these people who lived the same magic as me. It's not your typical kind of magic where cards are guessed or swords are swallowed, no it's the magic of the mind, one kind of magic that leaves a mark printed deep inside your mind, deep inside your soul. Here coworkers, friends, families and lovers are bounding. Silence now, the show is starting. It's a concert of light where imagination meets reality and the people stuck on Earth at this very moment are just their limbo. This... was one of the best nights of my life.
Build-upA pleasant breeze in this deep forest, the sun and faith really seemed to be shiny on what was supposed to be a perfect day. Me? I was hidden on some branches, relaxing, listening to the music that is nature. The birds chirping, the leafs quietly giving their symphonies to the natural conductor that is the wind. Then, something happened. It could have been 1 or 2 pm, I wouldn't have known, but what got my attention was a very loud noise. It only lasted for a second or two really, but it was certainly only could announce a predicament. Jumping from my nest, I landed on my feet and went towards where I thought the sound came from. Arriving to a clearing after going through the thick green wall, what I saw was mind boggling...

Short Story 1 - The Man in the DesertI am resting here between two waves of heat, lost in this ocean of sand where a scorching sun rules the day and a freezing moon rules the night. Yet, it doesn't seem too long ago that I was back home living a happy normal life with my family.I have a daughter, she has beautiful blonde hair that seems to shine like the sun and her mother's beautiful deep blue eyes. Twelve years ago, I saw her make her entry into this world and I have been there for her ever since. I was her dad, her model, her hero. I watched over her, I was there when she said her first word and I made sure that she had everything she needed. I remember her first day of school, she was up three hours early, already all set and ready to go. She was so nervous that she was shaking in her little outfit that we had bought just the day before. When I went and drove her to school, that's the first time she walked away from me; in just a little while, I wouldn't be nor her only model nor her hero. One thing was left certain
